Bachmann have made an excellent model of the Derby class 108 diesel multiple units. This is the 3-car version of the units, with a powered driving brake car, central trailer car and a non-powered driving motor car. These 3-car 108 sets operated on most regions of BR, particularly in the later years when these units were often cascaded into new areas to replace life-expired DMUs.

This model is painted in the corporate blue and grey livery, used on DMUs which had undergone life-extension overhauls around 1980. The livery suited the units well, making rail travel much brighter and attractive than the image projected by the plain blue scheme.
