GEM and Springside parts are normally supplied as unpainted whitemetal castings. These can be painted with enamel or acrylic paints, however use of a primer (eg Tamiya primer) is recommended to provide a good base for the paint finish.
Please be aware that whitemetal contains harmful (by ingestion) heavy metals, always wash your hands after handling whitemetal parts before eating etc. For this reason whitemetal parts are not recommended for painting by children without adult supervision, such that your children can learn and understand the skills needed to use�these parts safely.
