Hornbys' class 60 model is widely recognised as one of the best OO model locomotives to date. This model of 60 014 Alexander Fleming carries the Railfreight triple grey livery with EWS patch. These patches cover the name of the previous operators, an interim measure before full repainting. Repainting has been a slow process and several patched 60s have been seen in 2007.

Hornby have devised a drive system which powers all six axles on the 60 without completely blocking the distinctive see-through bodyside grilles. Not only can the representations of the internal equipment be seen but daylight through the opposite side.
