The class 73 locomotive was designed to operate from the Southern region third-rail power supply or from an auxiliary diesel engine for use in sidings.
This model from the former Lima range captures the character of these locomotives very well and now features an improved drive mechanism.
GB Railfreight operate several members of the class, including 73 204 on goods services in the South-East and on special passenger trains using hauled stock. The GBRf 73s have been popular visitors to many preserved railway diesel galas, so these locomotivers can often be seen well away from the former Southern region.
