Model of the early bodystyle class 26/0 locomotives. These were the original 20 pilot scheme BRCW type 2 locomotives. The later locomotives, which might be considered the production type, incorporated a small number of detail changes made after experience of the initial 20.

One of the last class 26s in service 26001 was repainted into the BR green livery with it's original number D5301 and named Eastfield, then the main depot for the class. This model replicates the 'celebrety' 26, which can still be seen today at the Caledonian Railway, Brechin.

Heljan OO Class 26 043 in Engineers Dutch Livery (2637)

An excellent model of the refurbished class 26 locomotive, fitted with air brake equipment, including air tanks underslung from the body in the place previous occupied by the train heat water tank. 26 043 was sponsored by the civil engineers department and painted in their grey and yellow Dutch style livery with Eastfield depot plaques.

Heljans' reliable and smooth running chassis provides excellent performance and hauling capacity, the motor being fitted with flywheels and shaft drives to both bogies.

26 043 has been preserved at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, being delivered to Toddington in this livery. The locomotive is being restored to original condition by a group with experience of restoring train heating boilers to service.

The class 50 locomotives were displaced onto secondary express duties by new HST trains delivered in the early 1980s. Many of the class were adopted by Network South East, hauling express services from London to Oxford and Exeter. Hornby OO Class 56 063 BR Trainload (R2576)
Livery changes often leave odd marks on a locomotive and 56063 has been modelled in a mixed state, as running recently. Still painted in the railfrieght triple grey livery style 56063 has lost its' nameplates, leaving a weathering mark in their previous position. Additionally the numbering transfers applied on the cabside have a grey backing film designed for use on the lighter grey paint.

Hornby really have brought the class 56 up to current standards of detail with this new model.
