We have placed an order with Bachmann for a limited production collectors model of 47835 Windsor Castle painted in the striking InterCity Swallow livery.

In 1985 Intercity continued a long Great Western tradition when HM the Queen named royal train locomotive 47620 Windsor Castle. This limited edition collectors model depicts the locomotive as 47835, fitted with extra fuel tanks and working from Bristol Bath Road shed during the early 1990's. Specially equiped and maintained in immaculate order for royal train duties, 47835 hauled cross-country InterCity trains across Britain, from Scotland to Cornwall.

The superb Bachmann model carries a powerful motor mounted centrally in a heavy diecast chassis to provide good haulage capabilities. The bodyshell accurately detailed as 47835 will including fittings and finishing touches, as befitting a royal train locomotive bearing the pride of both the depot and Intercity fleet.

An excellent model of the class 57 locomotives operated by First Great Western featuring a powerful centrally mounted motor driving all six axles. Flywheels and a heavy chassis ensure smooth operation.

Following trials with prototype locomotive 57601 First Great Western selected the class 57 design to replace their small fleet of class 47 locomotives.
The locomotives are used on overnight sleeper trains, extra daytime trains and moving empty stock, including spare coaches for HST trains.

DRS class 66 66 411 carries this special Eddie Stobart 'Eddie the Engine' livery to mark the partnership of DRS and Eddie Stobart haulage for the long-distance trunk rail haulage of Tesco traffic from Daventry (Northamptonshire) international terminal to Scotland.

The complex livery has been accurately replicated for this OO model of 66411, using the new bodyshell and chassis to correctly model the revised low-emissions version of the class 66. The chassis retains the powerful motor driving all six axles, directional lighting and 21-pin DCC socket.

The DCC sound system spreads into the GB Ralfreight 'Bluebird' 66 in 2008. Bachmann hired a real 66 to record the full range of sounds made by these locomotives, including the horns,  fans, compressors and brake system. Buffer collision and coupling sounds are also included for use during shunting operations.

66 702 was one of the first batch of 66s delivered to GBRf and painted in the companys' blue livery with bright orange lettering and cabsides.

Powered by Bachmann's centrally mounted motor with flywheels all six axles are driven. A heavy diecast chassis provides plenty of weight for adhesion, allowing long trains to be pulled with ease.

The 1,160bhp Sulzer powered class 24s were one of th first diesel locomotive designed operted by British Railways. The low power rating of the engine limited their usefulness and the class was slowly withdrawn in the 1970's, replaced by more powerful locomotives. Principally used on short goods trains the class is popular with modellers who lack the space for long mainline trains. Now the addition of sound will bring even more interest and realism to small layouts. The centrally mounted motor and smooth drive mechanism with flywheels provide excellent slow running performance and train hauling capacity.

The 1,250bhp Sulzer powered class 25s were found all over the British Rail network from the 1960's until the mid-1980's. Their small size and low power fit well with the short trains many modellers run, now sound will bring even more interest and realism to small layouts. The centrally mounted motor and smooth drive mechanism with flywheels provide excellent slow running performance and train hauling capacity. 25095 is one of the locomotives with the revised bodyshell, eliminating the draughty front doors and moving the air intakes to the cantrail, keeping out the dirt which entered through the previous bodyside grilles.

Bachmann's superb Freightliner class 57 complete with a factory fitted DCC decoder, ready for service on any DCC or conventional DC control layout.

Featuring a powerful skew wound motor fitted with twin flywheels with drive arranged to all six axles and a heavy diecast chassis block. The bodyshell is accurately detailed as an early type 57, as rebuilt for Freightliner, retaining many of the characteristic features of the original class 47 bodyshell.

Bachmann have produced an excellent model of the latest low-emission engine version of the class 66 locomotives. There are several external detail differences between these locomotives and the original design, including an extra bodyside door and revised underframe equipment.

The Bachmann model retained the powerful motor with drive to all six axles. The addition of the DCC decoder allows DCC control of the lighting, automatically switching the white amnd red lights when a direction change is selected.

Bachmanns' deatiled model of the BR class 08 heavy deisel shunting locomotive is presented in the black livery originally applied to shunting engines. the 13xxx series numbers were applied during the 1950s before mainline diesel locomotives arrived. The D3xxx series was setup later as the shunters was assimilated into the new diesel locomotive numbering scheme.

Relive the days of the blue 37s on heavy South Wales coal and ore trains with this new DCC sound equiped model of Cardiff Cantons' 37 254.

Powered by Bachmanns' proven all-wheel-drive mechanism with central motor, flywheels and diecast chassis, the latest version of the 37 bodyshell accurately captures the blue era appearance, though possibly a lot of weathering might be needed to replicate just how dirty these hard worked locomotives became!

Equiped with an on-board DCC controlled sound system this model of English Electric type 4, later class 40, D211 carries the original green livery embelished with the name Mauretania. The class 40s were among the first new diesel locomotives delivered to British Rail under the modernisation plan. D211 was equiped with steam-era headcode discs and allocated to the principal express passenger services on the West Coast route. Several members of the class were named, principally reflecting the names of ocean liners which crossed the North Atlantic.

Several members of the class carried the names of British Army regiments, D55 being named Royal Signals.

Bachmann have made their excellent BR class 20 model even better by incorporating a few changes in response to modellers comments. Driven by the proven Bachmann mechanism the model includes details down to the small differences in bogie frames.

8164 is painted in the BR green livery and represents the class 20s after 1968, when the D number prefix was dropped following the withdraw of the last steam locomotives. Class 20s were the last BR locomotives to retain the green livery in the mid 1970s. Repainting of these goods only locomotives took second place to locos assigned to passenger services.

A new version of the class 25/1 Derby type 2 locomotive. 25052 features the original bodyshell design with bodyside vents painted in BR blue livery and very effectively weathered.

Bachmanns Bo-Bo drive mechanism is one of the best in the business, the centrally mounted motor drives all four axles while the heavy diecast chassis ensures this 25 will pull long trains with ease.

Representing the early batches of the revised design class 25 with air intake grilles moved to the cantrail shoulders. D7646 is painted in the attractive two-tone green livery as originally delivered.

During the division of locomotives between operating sectors a number of units were allocated to the civil engineering department. To distinguish these locomotivesa board yellow band along the upper edge of the bodyside was added to the basic freight grey livery. This livery style had been used by the Netherlands railways for many years and was quickly dubbed Dutch livery.

37410 was one of a group of class 37 locomotives fitted with electric train supply for working passenger traiuns over the highland line to Oban, Fort William, Mallaig, Wick, Thurso and Kyle of Lochalsh. The white West Highland terrier emblem was applied initially to locomotives working the West Highland line to but spread later to most Scotrail locomotives.

A superb Bachmann model of the Class 40's that were the first really successful large batch of diesel locomotives running in Britain. This unit was fitted with train air brake equipment and was without water tanks.

The huge Derby type 4s were among the earliest mainline diesel locomotives to enter service with British Railways. Equiped with a 2,300bhp Sulzer engine the type were named after major British mountains, gaining the class and it's derivatives the nickname of Peaks.

Bachmanns' model is driven by a centrally mounted motor, powering two axles on each truck, with the outer two axles pivoted to ensure that the long wheelbase will successfully traverse sectional track. The detailed bodyshell incorporates the design details which characterise each sub-class of the Derby type 4s.

Virgin Class 57/3 Thunderbird locomotive, 57307 Lady Penelope is modelled complete with the Delner coupling for assiting/towing Virgin Pendolino trains. Traction power is supplied by a motor mounted centrally in a diecast chassis block, with drive to all six axles. Sprung buffers and highly detailed coupler units are fitted, with a standard tension lock coupling at one end. The front end, where the cab contains a driver figure, is fitted with a dummy screw link type coupling, a tension lock unit is supplied. A new model of the Freightliner low emission demonstrator locomotives, the first of the class 66s with the revised engine set-up to further reduce pollutant emissions. These locomotives have a revised bodyshell with an extra bodyside door.

66952 was one of two demonstrators, sponsored by Freightliner and classified 66/9. Working initially on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link construction contract before being passed for operation on Network Rail and passed to the Freightliner HeavyHaul pool. Both Freightliner and GBRf have purchased production versions of these locomotives.
