A highly detailed model of the popular Canadian-built General Motors EMD class 66, steadily becoming the mainstay locomotive of most UK rail freight companies. Smoothly powered by Bachmann's central motor with twin flywheels and drive to all six axles the 66 also features selectable directional lighting. The nicely moulded bodyshell, neatly reproducing the distinctive 'corrugated' sides, features finely moulded side grilles and a very fine mesh roof radiator grille. Underframe detailing includes cable and pipe runs, while trucks are hightly detailed, right down to cast-in lettering. The lightning stripe livery, data panels, builders plates and warning notices are all neatly printed. A tension-lock coupler is fitted to the NEM pocket at one end, while the other end carries a dummy swing buckeye and driver figure in the cab. Optional air brake hoses and lower buffer beam sections are supplied.
