An excellent model of the push-pull fitted class 33/1 locomotives powered by Heljans heavy diecast chassis with central motor and shaft drive to both bogies.
33105 is painted in the BR rail blue livery, enhanced with white window surrounds, a non-standard detail added by some depots.

When the Southern region third rail electrification system reached Bournemouth the cost of further extension to Weymouth was not justified. To provide through service from London to Weymouth, via Bournemouth a push/pull control system was developed. A control system was designed to allow a class 33 locomotive to be driven using the controller in an EMU cab, connected via the control jumpers fitted to the EMU stock. Two new EMU units were formed, a 4-car unit with restaurant car and two powerful motor coaches and 4-car non-powered set, which was worked in push/pull mode with EMU trains, calss 33/1 and class 73 locomotives. The twelve 33/1 locomotives were easily identified by the fitting of EMU air pipes and control jumpers to the cab ends, plus a buckeye coupler and central buffer, as fitted to the Southern EMU trains.
