Following the start of the new Cross Country franchise many of the Voyager trains have been transferred to the new operator, Arriva. This new livery is steadily being applied to the fleet.

This complete 4-car Voyager represents unit 220 017 in the latest Cross-Country livery and consists of a second class cab car, two intermediate coaches, one with a motor and drive mechanism powering all four axles and the first class cab car.

Virgin Trains introduced these tailitng 5-car super voyager trains for the Cross Country franchise and West Coast services over non-electrified routes. While the 4-car Voyagers mostly received geographic names the Super Voyagers were named after famous voyagers and explorers. Unit 221 122 was named after the fictional time voyager, Doctor Who.

The class 101 units built by Metropolitan Cammel were a mainstay of the BR diesel multiple unit fleet. This unit is painted in the original green livery which was seen until the early 1970s.

A superb new model of one of British Rail's classic diesel multiple units.

This model carries the initial livery applied to refurbished DMU trains, in this case a unit operating services under the Manchester transport executive.

A new version of the Bachmann class 108 diesel multiple unit in the later blue & grey livery, as seen on the Western region replacing the unsuccesful Pacer trains.

This model of Plymouth based unit P956 is fitted with Paignton and Exeter destination blinds, a service along the South Devon coast including the sea walls section through Dawlish and Teignmouth and the popular holiday beaches of Torquay.

Bachmann have made an excellent model of the Derby class 108 diesel multiple units. This is the 3-car version of the units, with a powered driving brake car, central trailer car and a non-powered driving motor car. These 3-car 108 sets operated on most regions of BR, particularly in the later years when these units were often cascaded into new areas to replace life-expired DMUs.

This model is painted in the corporate blue and grey livery, used on DMUs which had undergone life-extension overhauls around 1980. The livery suited the units well, making rail travel much brighter and attractive than the image projected by the plain blue scheme.

An excellent model of the Derby built class 108 diesel multiple unit. Bachmann have managed to fit a flywheel into the bodyshell, providing drive to one bogie, but with ample power for hauling an extra parcels van if required.

Among the last designs of mechanical diesel unit, the experience gained from earlier designs was incorporated, resulting in a rugged and reliable trains. Network South East served the areas around London and the home counties, with many commuter routes providing employment for these units in the 1980's and 90's

These trains were built for the suburban and stopping services from London along the Thames valley and to Oxford. Since the former Thames franschise was absorbed by First Great Western the areas served by these trains have enlarged.

The highly sucessful class 170 Turbostar units have served several operators and former Central Trains units have now joined the expanded cross country fleet.

The highly successful class 170 'Turbostar' units have served several operators. One of the latest new companies formed during the ratioanlisation of operating franchises is London Midland, who have repainted their 170 units in this smart looking black, green and white scheme.

Having taken over many routes previosuly operated under the Silverlink and Centro/Central Trains franchises the company provides local and cross-country services in the Midlands region, including long distance services between London and Liverpool. These 170 units are used for the long distance workings including routes through Birmingham to Coventry, Stratford-on-Avon, Worcester and Gloucester.
