A superb O gauge model of the Brush type 4 or BR class 47 diesel electric locomotive. The highly detailed bodyshell conceals a heavy diecast chassis. Each bogie has a motors and flywheel fitted providing plenty of power for this 47. An internal circuit board controls directional LED lighting and the motor driving the roof-mounted radiator cooling fans.
This model is painted in the corporate era blue livery, as carried by the class through the 1970's and 80's. The double arrow logo has been applied next to the bodyside door, but no number has been applied, allowing you to select your own! | |

These locomotives were the Great Westerns' principal express passenger type, but proved versatile enough to be employed on many other trains, including milk and express goods services. The LNER J39 0-6-0 is a new model for the Tower Brass range expected during 2009. The model will be supplied ready to run and factory painted in plain black with red buffer beam. These engines were usually painted black throught their careers, so your model can be completed simply with the addition of lettering, logos and numbers appropriate for your era.
This is the first model in the Tower Brass range to also feature a highly detailed chassis, including working inside motion. Several optional extras will be supplied to allow for detail variations, including the grate lowering apparatus, an extra lubricator and a pair of cab seats.
These sturdy locomotives, enlarged from earlier 0-6-0 types were capable of hauling local passenger and goods trains with equal ease. J39s were popular locomotives on many LNER branchlines in the North East, where their power was a welcome improvement over the older engines. more.. | |

Tower models are expecting to receive their Lancashire & Yorkshire railway 0-4-0 Pug saddle tank models this Spring. This model is fully assembled and ready to run, completed in all-over black finish with red buffer beams. Only lettering, logos and numbers appropriate for your livery choice are required to prepare your L&Y Pug for service.
Designed by Aspinall for the L&Y the first Pug appeared in 1891, 57 being completed by 1910. Under LMS and later BR ownership many of the class ended up working far from home. Ideal for shunting docks and industrial areas where sharply curved track abounded the light weight Pugs worked as far away as Bristol, South Wales, Cumbria and Yorkshire. The last of these engines remained in service until 1964. Two examples were preserved.
Painted plain black for most of their careers, with a wide choice of LMS and BR era liveries can easily be applied. | |

The GWR Standard Goods 0-6-0, popularly known as the Dean Goods first built in 1884 and members of the class served until the initial run-down of steam traction in the 1950s. In addition to service with the GWR and later British Railways many of these engines served with the war department on military railways in the UK and in Europe during two world wars. One engine has been preserved, currently displayed as part of the goods services exhibit at the Swindon Steam museum. more.. | |
