A BR class 33 diesel locomotive 33 002 Sea King pulls a short engineering train from the end of the nationalised British Rail era. Matching the grey and yellow liveried locomotive are four small wagons and a brake van to convey the guard and track workers.
An oval of track 648mm/25½in by 474mm/18¾in is supplied along with a controller and mains power transformer.

The class 33 diesels were built for the Southern region of British Rail, a region noted for it;s extensive network of electrified routes. The 33's were used on many trains from the Southern region onto other regions, especially with trains of fresh ballast from the quarries at Meldon (on the northern edge of Dartmoor). Members of the class were often seen on the Western region and travelled regularly as far north as Crewe and Doncaster. | |
