Double slip crossover turnout code 55 rail with insulated frog.
The double slip combines a two points into a crossing, allowing trains entering from either track to exit directly ahead, or diverge onto the other track. These can be a useful space saver in yards and station approaches.
Length 154mm 6 1/16in, nominal radius 24in approx.
While electrofrog crossings have a much shorter section where track power is not available as the wheels pass through the frog the insulfrog crossover can simplify the track power wiring needed at junctions. | |
