A good easy to assemble kit to build two LNWR design open wagons, one coal wagon, suitable for traffic or locomotive coal use and a 4-plank merchandise wagon.
Open wagons were used to convey almost all types of cargo before WW1 and even until the 1950s many crated products would be loaded by crane into open wagons. Only the introduction of the fork-lift truck has allowed heavy items to be loaded easily into a box van, where access by crane would be impossible.
Take care to pair up and assemble to correct length solebars for each wagon, as two different lengths are supplied on each sprue. | |
