New release of the popular Devon Belle observation car expected 2nd quarter 2010

A superb model of the Devon Belle Pullman tail observation car as finished for the commencement of the Devon Belle service in 1947.

Two of these special coaches were built for the Devon Belle service, providing passengers with excellent panoramic views of the Devonshire countryside. Pullman staff provided top quality service with refreshments, ensuring that passengers did not need to leave their seats to refill their glasses.

Happily one of these cars survives in passenger service today on the Torbay steam railway.

Era 3

Third release of the Bachmann Mk.1 Pullman kitchen first named Falcon.

This model of the Mk1 Pullman car is a very good model of the prototype with excellent detailing and finely printed lettering. The livery captures the famous Pullman umber and cream scheme well. Interior lighting and table lamps are fitted to these coaches. The use of NEM coupler pockets allows the use of tension lock or alternative couplers.

Era 6

Formerly the Hadrian Bar of the Tees-Tyne pullman, the car was renamed Nightcap Bar for use with the overnight sleeper trains from London Euston to Scotland. Repainted into the corporate standard blue/grey to match the other coaches the distinctive recesssed doors showed the car's Pullman heritage.

Bachmann have produced excellent models of these Pullman cars, with very nicely reproduced livery details and interior lighting. The use of NEM coupler pockets allows the use of tension lock or alternative bar couplers.

Eras 6-7

Built in 1927 these matchboard sided Pullman coaches are painted in cream and umber as seen in service during the 1950's and early 1960's.
