more | Parkside Dundas O BR 21T Coal Wagon Diag 1/107 Kit (PS15)
Developed from the GWR 20-ton open wagon the BR 21-ton version was intended to be the standard coal wagon. The wagons never proved quite so popular with the domestic trade customers as the smaller 16-ton version and later hoppers too over many bulk coal flows. The 21-tonner remains a distinctive wagon of the early BR era, something different to the ubiqitous 16-tonner.
Parkside have a well deserved reputation for making excellent kits, producing an accurate model which remains easy to assemble well with only basic tools required.
more | Parkside Dundas O BR 12T Pipe Wagon Diag 1/462 Kit (PS17)
A very good and easy to assemble kit of the BR Pipe wagon.
These wagons had very long lives, proving useful for a wide range of traffics. Although designated as pipe wagons (for the conveyance of finished pipes) the longer frame and full-length drop sides made access by mechanical handling equipment easy. As fork-lift truck loading became widespread the Pipe wagon could be loaded with almost anything! This kept the fleet busy, moving frok one traffic flow to another, until the similarly designed air braked wagons entered service in the late 1970s.
more | Parkside Dundas O LNER & BR 20T Plate Wagon Welded Body Kit (PS19)
This kit has been designed to replicate the standard BR Plate wagon design. The kit can be built to model the LNER design with fully welded construction, or the revised BR standard part welded type. The low sides of these wagons were built strong enough to retain the load, but only a few inches high to prevent overloading.
Intended to carry steel sheet or plates many sheet steel components could also be carried. The wagons proved versatile in service and often saw use as flat wagons conveying road vehicles and farm implements.
more | Parkside Dundas O LMS & LNER 20T Plate Wagon Rivetted Version Kit (PS22) The rivetted construction version of the Plate wagon. Wagons to this design were built by the LMS and LNER before nationalisation as an alternative to welded contruction.

more | Parkside Dundas O BR 24.5T Coal Wagon Diag 1/115 Kit (PS25)
These large 24½-ton open wagons were intended to be the standard bulk coal wagons under the BR ideal stock plan, being the heaviest 2-axle wagons which could be granted near-universal route clearance. Where clearance wasn't available however was under the screens of many collierys. While the slightly lower 21-ton wagons proliferated this 24½ type was built in limited numbers and frequently made a nuscience of themselves by getting mixed in with the 21-tonners when going somewhere they wouldn't fit!
This kit is a welcome addition to the Parkside range, allowing another different wagon to be built and providing more interesting coal trains.

more | Parkside Dundas O GWR 20T Steel Coal Wagon Kit (PS41)
Marketed by the GWR through the offer of reduced haulage rates the 20-ton steel open wagon began the trend towards the use of higher capacity wagons.
This kit builds a model of the standard GWR 'Felix Pole' 20-ton open wagon. These were purchased by private owners and leased from the GWR by several collieries in the late 1930s.
Some of these wagons also operated in locomotive coal service, however as the loco department had it's own design of 20-tonners (kit PS47) these 'traffic' wagons may have been temporarily hijacked!. more..

more | Parkside Dundas O GWR 20T Brake Van diag AA19 kit (PS44) An excellent kit from Parkside for the distinctive GWR 20-ton brake van. A progressive design when first built in this form during the 1920's, the design remained almost unchanged until construction was ended about 1950 in favour of the standard BR type 20-ton brake van. In addition to preserved railways these vans could still be seen on the national network, serving as comfortable mess and tool vans with engineering trains into the 21st century.
more | Parkside Dundas O GWR 20T Steel Loco Coal Wagon Kit (PS47)
The GWR introduced high-capacity wagons in the early years of the 20th century. This robust 20-ton steel bodied design reduced the number of wagons needed for hauling locomotive coal when compared to the 'new standard' 10-ton capacity wagons of the 1900s.
This kit provides GWR modellers with an ideal wagon for supplying coal to their branchline loco depots.

Horsebox vans were a common sight on Briatins railways until the 1960s. This model kit is the GWR design dating from the 1920s, with a grooms' compartment, large side doors to allow horses to be loaded and unloaded easily and a stowage compartment for fodder.
Equiped with passenger type suspension, vacuum brakes and often steam heating these horseboxes would be conveyed by passenger trains on many branchlines and by secondary trains on the mainline. Long trains of horseboxes were also seen sometimes, especially when a major race meet or polo tournament was imminent! more..
