Clean track and locomotive wheels are essential for reliable running on any model railway. Track cleaning rubbers are useful to remove heavy dirt and corrosion from the rails, while the axle-hung pads polish your tracks as the trains run. Locomotive driving wheels can quickly be cleaned using Pecos' wheel cleaning brush.
Lubrication is also essential for bearings, the Expo oiler is especially useful for placing a drop of oil into the wheel bearings on coaches and wagons. Always refer to the manufacturers' maintenance leaflet for oiling points on locomotives, most manufacturers have copies of these available on their web sites.

Metal patternmakers dowels ideal for use on portable layouts to guarantee accurate track alignment every time the boards are put together. These dowels consist of a pair of metal pieces, a dowel and a socket, both with securing screws.
