| > Electrics & Power Controllers > Digital Command Control (DCC) > Power Boosters | Typically a DCC controller has an in-built power supply limit, ranging from 1 to 4 amps. While this will run a number of N or OO gauge trains larger locomotives in O, 1 and G gauges need more current and as you expand your layout, adding more trains and accessory decoders, the limit can soon be reached. A power booster or amplifier provides a source of extra power to increase the total available for your trains and layout features. On large layouts you can divide the track into sections to help spread the load, linking the control signal line to the boosters so trains will run seamlessly over the joints. | Hornby Power and Signal Booster (R8239)
The Hornby Booster provides more ampage, if required to power the locomotives as well as boosting the command signals to the locomotive decoders. Can be used with the Hornby C7024 4 amp transformer or suitable transformer up to a maximum of 5 amps.
