An excellent new model of the BR engineers shark ballast plough brake van. These brake vans are used with ballast hopper wagons, the ballast plough being lowered to spread fresh ballast across the track formation.

Hornbys' model is highly detailed, including the large wheels used to lower the plows situated in each end platform. The model incorporates plenty of weight, so you can be sure it will not derail even when formed into a train of ballast hopper wagons.

This model is painted in the maroon livery of EWS, currently Britains largest rail freight company, and still in regular use.
