New Product Announcement from Dapol. Pricing and release to be advised. Following on from the eagerly awaited B17 Dapol have announced that they will be producing a model of the similar but much more widely traveled B1 class 4-6-0. Currently in the final stages of design (autumn 08) production is anticipated late 2009 or 2010. Initial releases are expected to be in the LNERs apple green and BR mixed traffic lined black liveries with all the features of the B17, including the Dapol 'super-creep' motor mounted in the tender along with a 6-pin DCC socket driving the locomotive wheels by a driveshaft connection. The chassis is being designed to accomodatye curves down to 10½in radius and the 40:1 gear ratio should ensure smooth starts and running even at slow speeds. Watch out for updates during 2009! | |
