A new version of the BR class 90 electric locomotive in the green livery of Freightliner. Ideal for use with the recent batches of container wagons.

BR class 91 express passenger electric locomotive 91004 'Grantham' with Driving Van Trailer. Class 91 locomotives normally work with the streamlined end outwards, with the driving trailer at the opposite end of the train. The locomotive can then propel the train from the rear during the return journey, with the driver sitting in the driving trailer.

The much anticipated Dapol class 86 models have now been officially announced. Following the highly successful drive mechanism design developed for the Hymek we anticipate a finely detailed bodyshell to match the exemplary performance of the chassis.

86 621 was specially altered for hauling container trains on the West Coast route and will appear in the bright green and yellow livery of Freightliner, introduced following the 'spin off' of Freightliner as a separate company during rail privatisation. Ideal for hauling Dapols' Freightliner FEA spine wagons!

RES, Rail Express System, was formed in the mid-1980s as a new marketing brand for BRs express parcels and mail services. 86 425 will appear in the RES 'post office' red livery, matching the parcels vans released recently by Graham Farish. RES was later purchased as a business unit by freight operator EWS and the red locomotives were mixed into the general locomotive pool. As RES locomotives retained working train heating supply for mail trains these engines were the first choice for stand-by or 'thunderbird' duties, frequently hauling passenger trains.
