Newly Announced model for 2009. Release dates and pricing to be advised The much anticipated Dapol class 86 models have now been officially announced. Following the highly successful drive mechanism design developed for the Hymek we anticipate a finely detailed bodyshell to match the exemplary performance of the chassis. RES, Rail Express System, was formed in the mid-1980s as a new marketing brand for BRs express parcels and mail services. 86 425 will appear in the RES 'post office' red livery, matching the parcels vans released recently by Graham Farish. RES was later purchased as a business unit by freight operator EWS and the red locomotives were mixed into the general locomotive pool. As RES locomotives retained working train heating supply for mail trains these engines were the first choice for stand-by or 'thunderbird' duties, frequently hauling passenger trains. | |
