Arriva took over the Cross Country franchise late in 2007 with a number of the former Virgin Voyager trains being transferred to Arriva. The livery to be applied has not yet appeared, however working with Arriva Trains Dapol expect to have the new livery available in N gauge during the 3rd quarter of 2008.
The extra coach allows longer Voyager train formations to be modeled when used with the ND087 4-car train as four car train. | |

Release information and pricing to be advised To complement their new Mk.3 coaches Dapol have announced that they have commenced CAD design work on the class 43 HST power cars. No timescale has been advised and these did not appear in the initial 2009 catalogue, so 2010/11 production is expected. Information so far indicates that several detail variations will be allowed for in the design of the tooling and many livery versions are planned including as-built 'InterCity 125', all versions of the InterCity 'red stripe' livery, Virgin Trains and Cross Country These models will incorporate the Dapol Platinum chassis, with directional lighting and 6-pin DCC sockets for motor and lighting control. Provision for the installation of a sound system in the 'dummy' end power car is being considered at the design stage. Dapol will be fitting these power cars with their close-coupling units, leaving little or no gap between the corridor connections when coupled with their new Mk.3 coaches. Watch out for further announcements during 2009! | |

New Product Announcement from Dapol Dapol have announced that they will be producing the Virgin Trains Pendolino train in N! No timescale has been advised yet, but we understand that the tooling is being produced in late 2009. The train will be released as a 4-car set in a presentation book set format, as used for the Voyager trains. The power unit will incorporate the Dapol low friction drive mechanism with 6-pin DCC sockets (two decoders will be needed, with one to operate lighting) and all cars will be close coupled. A sprung pantograph and directional lighting will be fitted and a working tilt system is promised, if the mechanisms can be made robustly enough in N! Extra coaches are promised to allow your Pendolino train to be extended. Watch out for further announcements during 2009! | |
