An excellent model of the 20-ton steel bodied open coal wagon painted in the Glenhafod of Port Talbot (South Wales) black livery.
The use of higher capacity wagons was promted by the GWR during the 1930s, with wagon hire and reduced haulage rates. Several of the coal companies, collieries, factors and bulk consumers took up these offers. 20-ton wagons became a common in the South Wales and the South West supplying ports, furnaces, gas works and power stations.
