Dapol recently introduced this excellent model of the 4-plank open merchandise wagon. This model represents Weardale no.805 in the bright red livery used by that company.
The 4-plank wagon was used for heavy, but not bulky loads to prevent accidental overloading. Frequently this design was used to transport finished products not requiring weather protection, for exaple iron castings.
