A signature wagon of the late 1960's, these hopper wagons were built by BR under the coal concentration scheme, to deliver coal to central depots. Coal merchants would then collect their coal from the concentration depot, eliminating hundreds of small capacity wagons used to deliver to coal for individual merchants' sidings.
