A superb model of the popular LNER K3 class 2-6-0, available ready-to-run for the first time. These powerful moguls were capable of handling most passenger trains and fast goods trains with ease. 61932 carries the initial BR lined black livery with early emblem on it's LNER 'group standard' tender.
No. 61932 was based at 52B Heaton shed in the north east in 1955. The K3's were surprisingly powerful 2-6-0's, classified as 5P6F by BR. Three 18 1/2" x 26" stroke cylinders and 5' 8" driving wheels gave a tractive effort of 30030 lb. Boiler pressure was 180psi. | |
