Available in a ready-to-run model for the first time, the ex-LNER K3 class mogul is nicely detailed by Bachmann. This version carries the BR lined black livery with the later lion emblem. In 1959 No. 61949 was shedded at 32C - Lowestoft. Usage would have been on both second line passenger trains and fast freight
The K3's were surprisingly powerful 2-6-0's, classified as 5P6F by BR. Three 18 1/2" x 26" stroke cylinders and 5' 8" driving wheels gave a tractive effort of 30030 lb. Boiler pressure was 180psi. | |
