Both Hornby and Bachmann sets use standard OO/HO track which is compatible - either may be expanded with either Hornby or Peco track. The loco's and rolling stock are also compatible as the couplings are very alike and will connect without problem. Both use a mains powered controller providing a 12v variable speed supply for one locomotive. Unless stated otherwise they are ready to run once assembled.

Hornby OO My First Hornby Train Set (R1031)
My First Hornby battery operated train set is the ideal first electric train set,easy to assemble and easy to pack away, together with a 118cm x 92cm track mat. Suitable for youngsters of 3+ years - supervision required.

When play is over, the tunnel fits over the station, making a convenient case for carrying the entire set, while the footbridge cleverly acts as a handle. The set is fully compatible with all Hornby track, buildings and various other accessories.

With the addition of a Hornby Transformer and Train controller, the set can be converted to the more familiar 12V DC control.
