Both Hornby and Bachmann sets use standard OO/HO track which is compatible - either may be expanded with either Hornby or Peco track. The loco's and rolling stock are also compatible as the couplings are very alike and will connect without problem. Both use a mains powererd controller providing a 12v variable speed supply for one locomotive. Unless stated otherwise they are ready to run once assembled.

Hornby OO Industrial Train Set (R1088)

Great value train set from Hornby featuring the industrial 0-4-0 side tank locomotive with a carriage and three wagons, an oval of track plus a point to add a siding.

The set is supplied with a range of additional lineside accessories, including telegrah poles, a water crane and lineside huts. A 12-volt power controller is provided, with a UK mains power transformer along with a trackmat.

The industrail tank engine is lettered as a colliery locomotive, with an old time 4-wheel carriage for the colliery workers, a box van to carry stores and supplies, a lowmac wagon with a heavy load of castings and an open tippler wagon.

The addition of a siding allows you to shunt your train.
