Both Hornby and Bachmann sets use standard OO/HO track which is compatible - either may be expanded with either Hornby or Peco track. The loco's and rolling stock are also compatible as the couplings are very alike and will connect without problem. Both use a mains powered controller providing a 12v variable speed supply for one locomotive. Unless stated otherwise they are ready to run once assembled.

Hornby OO Virgin HST Train Set (R1023)

The privatised rail network is the theme of this set, featuring the Virgin livery that's now seen on 125 High Speed Trains in the west,and on coss country from Aberdeen to Penzance.

The Virgin power and dummy car lights illuminate in the direction of travel. The track that comes with this set is the Starter Oval plus Track Pack A to provide a siding, you can buy extra Track Packs later when you are ready for more.
