Both Hornby and Bachmann sets use standard OO/HO track which is compatible - either may be expanded with either Hornby or Peco track. The loco's and rolling stock are also compatible as the couplings are very alike and will connect without problem. Both use a mains powered controller providing a 12v variable speed supply for one locomotive. Unless stated otherwise they are ready to run once assembled.

Hornby OO The Rambler Train Set (R1035)

In years gone by, these hard working little trains were expected to haul a wide variety of loads on their journey in and around the towns, the small wheels of 0-4-0 locomoives gave surprisingly excellent pulling power and made them ideally suited to their task. The models in this set include a LSWR 0-4-0 tank locomotive, passenger coach, freight van and a five plank coal wagon, create a set which captures the spirit and variety of local rail traffic in the golden age of steam.

The Starter Oval track also included, gives the basis for a layout which can be extended at a later date using either Hornby or Peco OO track. Hornby Track Packs provide an easy method of expansion.
