The PL10-E point motor is fitted with a long point operating pin, ideal for mounting beneath baseboards. A small 10mm (3/8in) hole through the baseboard is required, located directly beneath the operating pin attachment location on the point. The pin will then reach through the board and locate into the operating pin attachment hole of the point. The pin can then be trimmed to length with a good side or track cutter tool. Peco strongly recommend that the PL10E be used in conjunction with a PL-9 Mounting Plate, fitted directly to the base board underneath the point. Operation is from a passing contact switch or probe and stud system to give a pulse from the 16v AC outlet found on most transformers (2 amps required). If this isn't available an uncontrolled 12v DC supply may suffice. A constant current would burn out the motor.
