> OO/HO Track & Buildings

British OO models at a scale of 1/76 run on a track gauge, the distance between the rails, of 16.5mm. This gauge is known elsewhere in the world as HO, with models at a scale of 1/87 and track manufacturers normally describe the rack as OO/HO.

Most British outline buildings and many of the road vehicle models are also made to a scale of 1/76 or OO. Many useful road vehicles are made in Europe at 1/87 (HO) scale, but in most scenes the small differences in scale can easily be disguised.
