Graham Farish N BR 11217 Class 04 Diesel Shunter BR Black (371-052)

Possibly the smallest ready-to-run British N gauge model, the Graham Farish 04 class diesel shunter does not compromise on detail.

A tiny can motor mounted in the front of the locomotive has been combined with a chassis designed to maximise the weight available for traction, while keeping the cab windows unobstructed. This provides smooth slow running characteristics and excellent train hauling capabilities, even the test and development model was able to pull 7-coach trains.

The external detailing reaches new standards for N gauge, with separate wire handrails fitted to the cab and bonnet, wire sand pipes and fine guard irons.

11217 carries the original BR black livery, applied when these locomotives were new, complete with the numbering pre-dating the D prefix series.

Dapol N BR Class 26 BRCW Type 2 Bo-Bo Diesel Locomotive ()

New Product Announcement from Dapol. Pricing and delivery to be advised.

Dapol have announced that the BRCW type 2, later BR class 26 locomotive models are at an advanced design stage with tooling being designed to allow both the 26/0 and 26/1 design variants to be recreated in N gauge.
The Birmingham Sulzers, classes 26 and 27, will always be closely associated with the Scottish Highland Lines, which are themselves an excellent sources of inspiration for modelling. When built however these locos could be found much farther south, initially working the suburban services around north London during the transition from steam to diesel, moving north to complete that same transition through northern England before arrival at Thurso!

This new model from Dapol will be available in several liveries, including the original green, engineers grey/yellow, Railfreight coal and redstripe liveries and one hopes, rail blue! Maybe that's too obvious a livery to rate a mention on the press release!
The 26 will have the same high specification Platinum drive mechanism and detailing level as the Dapol Hymek. Just like the Hymek the 26 is another iconic small locomotive which can instantly define, or even simply move, your layout location.

Watch out for more information and announcements during 2009!

Graham Farish N EWS Class 60 052 Glofa Twr Tower Colliery (371-350)

A superb model of the BR class 60 heavy freight locomotive in EWS red and gold livery.

This new model from Graham Farish brings Bachmann OO detailing to the N gauge range. Dapol N EWS Class 67 026 Dummy Unpowered Locomotive (ND-101G)

Unpowered or dummy locomotives are ideal for the operation of double-headed trains and for modelling the modern practice of 'top and tail' working.

Pairs of class 67 locomotives are often used on short-term hire with passenger train operators. One locomotive is coupled to each end of a set of coaches, allowing the train to be hauled in either direction without the locomotive having to be run-round the coaches. Model trains rarely require the power of two model locomotives, a dummy engine quickly represents the second locomotive on these trains.
