| Graham Farish N Class 40 Diesel 40192 BR Blue (371-178)
A very nice model of a BR class 40 locomotive, powered by a centrally mounted motor, the heavy diecast chassis allows realistic trains to be pulled.
Built by English Electric in the late 1950's these 2000bhp units were among the first successful British diesel locomotives. Rapidly displaced from passenger work by lighter and more powerful locomotives in the 1960's, the class 40's hauled goods and engineering trains into the late 1980's. Although allocated principally to BR Midland region, class 40's were regular visitors to South Wales goods yards in the south and Scotland.
