An excellent and distinctive addition to any garden railway Bachmann Brassworks have produced this impressive 1/19 scale model of the Festiniog Railways' world famous Double Fairlie locomotives.

Fitted with two power bogies, each with their own motor and flywheel these units are supplied separate from the body. Requiring simple final assembly with just four screws this arrangement allows easy access to the drive mechanisms for maintenance.

The bodies are finished in plain black, with brass handrails and cab trim, greatly easing the work required for painting, the inaccessible and internal parts are already painted! You will need only to paint the tanks, cabsides and details in the livery of your choice.

This model is fitted with wheels gauged for 45mm G gauge railways. A 32mm gauge (SM32) version is also available.

A superb model of a large 3ft narrow gauge 2-8-0. Bachmann have really captured to look and bulk of these locomotives, which were used by many US narrow gauge lines, often as the largest locomotives in service.

When built these consolidations were almost as large as contemporary standard gauge locomotives. In Colorado the 2-8-0s later became regarded as small (compared to the huge K36 2-8-2s!) and were assigned to many of the most scenic branch lines in the Rockies.

A whitemetal locomotive body kit allowing one of the larger Hunslet quarry locomotives to be built. Based on Cackler and Jerry M, built for the Dinorwic quarry (Llanberis) these locomotives were used on the 'mainline' moving slate wagons between the quarries, cutting sheds and transfer loading dock. These engines, fitted with caps, were larger than the quarry engines, making them idealy sized for almost any narrow gauge model railway.
