Even todays highly detailed locomotives can be detailed further. Engine crews and a set lamps can easily be added to steam locomotives.

Please note that the highly detailed locomotives being manufacturerd today have very few replacable parts. In many cases it is necessary to contact the manufacturer to obtain the correct replacement part for your locomotive. Details and reference codes for the parts can be found on the diagram sheet supplied with your model.

Hornby Rolling Road (all types) (R8211)

Ideal for testing and running in locomotives on the workbench, Hornby's rolling road is suitable for all types of steam locomotives and most diesel locomotives. Additional rollers R8212 will be required for 2-8-0 and 2-10-0 locomotives and for diesels with more than 3 driven axles.

All diesels with drive on one bogie can be accomodated, along with shorter locomotives with drive to both bogies. Very long diesels with both bogies driven may be more awkward to fit onto the rollers..
