A very fine model of LNER A1 class pacific as BR 60114 W.P.Allen in the Doncaster varient of LNER's apple green livery. Although wearing LNER livery the tender is lettered British Railways, representing the locomotive immediately after nationalisation when new and overhauled locomotives were lettered for the new company, but new liveries had yet to be agreed.

Hornby has completely retooled their A4 model, making it now the finest quality and most accurate modelling of the complex contours along the streamlined casing yet produced. Beneath the curved footplate the motion is finely reproduced and now includes full reversing gear mechanism, mechanical lubricator drive and speedo drive. Brake rigging is supplied factory fitted, but cylinder drain cock pipes and front vacuum hose are supplied seperately. A replacement wheelset is supplied for the rigid trailing truck to replace the flangeless wheels for those with larger radius curves.
A corridor type tender is supplied with a removeable coal load and fine wire handrails. Locomotive and tender footplates are fully detailed with many seperately installed fittings and handles.

An excellent model of Sir Nigel Gresley's famous A1 class locomotives produced using the latest tooling technologies for maximum accuracy and detail. 4475 Flying Fox was built to the same design as the world famous Flying Scotsman and is modelled as seen during 1939.

An excellent model of the Hunslet J94 or austerity saddle tank locomotive. A smooth running and reliable chassis provides good performance at slow speeds, while the body was design to allows for prototype variations to be accurately modelled.

These heavy shunting locomotives were originally ordered for the war department during WW2, but the popularity of this rugged design with industrial users ensured consruction continued into the 1950's. Many are now serbing on heritage railways across the UK.

A superb model of the Gresley designed A3 4-6-2 pacific type locomotive. Built to the same design as the well-known Flying Scotsman, Windosr Lad hauled express trains on the East Coast mainline from London Kings Cross to Leeds, York, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Hornby's model features a wealth of detailing with many separate parts allowing individual locomotives to be accurately modelled.

Fine model of the Eastern region work horse with locomotive mounted motor. The B1 was introduced in 1942 to a Thompson design with over 400 being built. 6' 2" driving wheels and a tractive effort of 26,880lb suited the class to both passenger and fast freight work. In 1955 61008 was shedded at Stratford (30A)
